There is certainly no shortage of mortgage brokers out there and finding one you can work with will make the whole mortgage application process that much easier.

What many individuals do not  realize is that if you have a very important to have knowledgeable and friendly broker, it can really make the whole mortgage loan application process so much easier.

When you have a good mortgage loan broker, it will make the whole process pretty much stress-free as they will be able to explain it all to you simply and easily. The will have the knowledge to help you find the best mortgage for your needs.

So how do you find a good broker?  There are some very simple things that will tell you immediately if your broker is right for you or not.

1. Contact  local realtors for lists of mortgage brokers in your area. Ask your friends for references.

2. Contact your list of brokers and find out how many lenders they represent.

3. Find out how they are paid for their services. Is it a flat fee or a percentage of the mortgage amount.

4. Make an appointment with one or two brokers you feel would best suit your needs following your telephone conversation.

5. Use the appointment to judge if the broker is somebody you would be comfortable working with. Are they knowledgeable on all the mortgage products available on the market.  Ask about different mortgage programs that might be available. Are the upbeat and positive. Are they punctual.

Work your way down your short list of brokers until you find one who has the knowledge and you feel you could work with.
